What is travelling with us?

Finally, after our friends arrived from Lithuania, we have more or less everything that we might need (I really hope so).

So, what is travelling with us?

Here is our list

BIKES

Surly Troll 16” and 18”
After long searches in Kuala Lumpur (which, we thought, should be easier - not so many options) we chose these Surly bikes - the reviews were great and now we are really happy to have them. So far and hopefully forever :)
Shimano SLX speed set

Shimano V-brakes

Shimano Hubs

Mavic rim xm317

Sapim spokes

Devinci Butterfly touring handlebar

Xstasy stem

FSA Orbit XL headset

FSA seatpost

Brooks b17 imperial and Brooks b17 special champion saddles

Pletscher esge kickstand

Tubus and Surly rear racks

Racktime front rack
I already feel that it was a bad choice as the bags are hanging quite high. Agnius has a better, lower rack - more stability.
Minoura bottle cages

Shwalbe Rocket Ron 1,85 tyres

Maxxis tubes

Cateye wireless commuter

Helmets

Bungee chords

Vincita Handlebar bag

Ortlieb front roller classic black bag

Ortlieb back roller classic black bag

Now our bikes have mudguards too

2,6kg
Sea to summit Mosquito Pyramid Net - insectshield
350g
Thermarest sleeping mats 183cm
Happy to have them.
Thermarest Pillows (S and M)
We both had S size, but Agnius lost his and I then I got a bigger one as my neck gets tired after a night with the S one.
Lifeventure EX3 Treated Silk liner
Very happy to have this – pleasure to sleep in on hot tropic nights
Sea to summit compression drysacks
Says waterproof, but not so waterproof..
MSR liquid fuel cooker
We use clean alcohol to prevent the fuel line getting stuck – more expensive, but always stays clean + no bad odours and enough for quite long
Set of Titanium pots (1,6l+1l+hood/frying pan)
Very light!
2 Titanium sporks
One of the most useful things on our travels
A rope

Sea to Summit microfibre Dry Lite towel X Large
Had 2, 1 lost, but manage with 1
Sea to Summit Wilderness citronella (super concentrated) wash

We almost didn't use them in our Southeast Asian trip so sent back home
Sleeping bags
1 left in Malaysia, another – sent home, so we will try without them

CLOTHING
Our casual clothing is changing from time to time, but there is something that we always have in our bags.
Weatherproof jackets (Northface)

Waterproof lightweight trousers (Rab)

ASUS 1225c notebook, Macbook Air 13”
Before we were travelling with ASUS, but everytime we had some time, one computer was never enough as it is needed for all the works. The final decision for a computer came when the screen of ASUS got broken. We didn't mean to buy a Mac (and was always ironic with people who are traveling with it) but the recommendations and the price (same like ASUS Zenbook – I felt a need for 13”) made me one of them :)
Buffalo 1TB harddrive x2, USB keys

Samsung Galaxy Young phone
very useful for navigating (Google maps), and used mainly for this purpose only
Garmin 60CSx
was almost not used during our travels in Asia where Samsung was much an easier option, but hopefully it will do it's work in Africa
Zoom field recorder

Petzl xp2 headlamps and Led Lenser torches

International Plug Adaptor (with USB)

Outlet splitter

Don't have much of this as we are not planning to stuff ourselves with medicaments
LOADS of natural mosquito repellent

SPF 30 sunscreen

Lip Balm

Tiger Balm Neck&Shoulder Rub

Thermoskin back support
